I was appointed to the San Diego State University Maximizing Access to Research Careers (MARC) Program in June 2021 funded by the National Institutes of Health. Also, in June 2022 I was awarded the 2022 California State University Sally Casanova Scholarship award. I am planning to receive my Bachelor's of Science degree in Chemistry this upcoming May, 2023. In addition, I am conducting research in Dr. Harrison’s Bioanalytical Chemistry Laboratory exploring novel solvent mixtures for capillary electrophoresis separation buffers. After completing my Bachelor’s degree, I am planning to pursue a Ph.D. in Chemistry with hopes to study applied analytical chemistry focusing on developing and optimizing methods with health or environmental applications.
I am involved in the community by being a tutor and holding a leadership position at the San Diego Tutoring Tree as a student-tutor coordinator. I currently tutor multiple students in chemistry, math, and biology. Additionally, I mentor freshman undergraduates through the Women in Science, SDSU chapter.
